Food Hijacking? Don't be stupid

"We cannot continue to let other countries hijack our food. Chilli crab is Malaysian. Hainanese chicken rice is Malaysian. We have to lay claim to our food,” she told reporters after launching the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival yesterday."

More, Just read THIS

When Indonesians started to claim everything that we have eaten since we were born to be solely theirs, i instantly think what nonsense they are talking about. Food supposed to be be enjoyed, no to fight over. isn't it nice to know that our preference and our happiness when enjoying the cuisine are also enjoyed by others regardless what their countries and races are. i even thought the silence of Malaysians over food war with Indonesians reflect how mature Malaysians are.

However my thought is shattered when i found a news on Malaysian's food being hijacked by other countries. what the heck. food is not like a plane to be hijacked for. if there are similarities or even the exact same food are being served by others, let it be. that means our food has gone international. what right do we have to stop others to eat the food that we also eat. we do not live in isolated world, so just share what is good and hinder what is bad. I'm afraid this issue will reveal our stupidity and we will be mocked over by the people of the world. Really, how third class mentality do we have here. If you don't want the food to be shared, then don't write recipe books, don't do TV show on food and don't even cook the food.

Geez, we are supposed to go forward, but we actually go backward. We insult on others' stupidity but we don't realize we are also stupid. Just stop being so childish. Even kids can share their candies, why can't we??
