Kucing

Aku sangat suka kucing. Kucing sangat comel. Kucing ada macam-macam kaler, oren, putih hitam dan berbagai-bagai lagi. Kucing suka geselkan diri kat kaki orang kerana banyak faktor. Faktor utama ialah kerana nak mintak makanan. Bila aku usap-usap badan kucing, dia pun mengiau tak henti-henti dan mula nak bermanja-manja. Aku nak sangat bela kucing tapi aku takut Toxoplasma Gondii.

cuba teka siapa aku??

Question: Does Hospital Work Suck?

Ever since I enroll in the world of pharmacy, I've been hearing so many things which are most likely not so good to hear. I've been questioning myself am I choosing the right carrier? is there any future in pharmacy field? how much further can I go after this? since I'm interested in working in hospital, I've become more worried as I learn the relationship between pharmacist and physician is not so good. so I've been thinking more and more and it bothers me actually. and one day I asked a pharmacist who is also a blogger this question:

Amal:

hi mark, i'm pharmacy student in a local university. after reading your blog,i feel like i have to reconsider my future planning since i have decided to work in hospital. is it really that bad? what would you suggest?
and this is his answer:

"Dear Amal (the commenter),

Yes, working in a hospital is hard and it's challenging. But is it bad? I don't think so. However, I do believe that working in a hospital means that you're going to have to constantly prove to other medical professionals ( I actually mean doctors here) that you are worth your paycheck and that you know your stuff. This is especially so if you intend to work in the wards where till today, other medical professionals still question our presence there and question the extent of our contributions. You will not have the luxury of faith and trust initially resulting in you having to print out several journals just to prove that you are right. You won't have the luxury of making a mistake as it will shatter your professional image. Lastly, you will have to prove that you actually do bring something useful to the healthcare team effort that's unique to your profession.

If you're not bothered to go through all that or if the thought of having your actions questioned and scrutinized all the time, then YES, working in the hospital in a clinical position sucks ass. But if you're up for a challenge, have a real need to prove you're better than the rest, desire to develop yourself professionally and sincerely believe 100% that the patient will be much better off with your contribution, then you will find that working in this position is the best thing in the world (perhaps second only to good Scottish whiskey). We are in dire need of pharmacists who can hold their own ground and raise the profile of our profession through deeds and not mere words.

I would suggest that you do a thorough search on the different fields of pharmacy, study them, speak to people that are in those positions and consider your own ambitions. Do look into possibilities such as working with the enforcement unit, with the National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau and with institutions like the Clinical Research Centre and the Institute of Medical Research.

The catch however, is this:

You never really know how much you like or hate a job if you've never actually done it.

As a conclusion, I'd say take advantage of the Internet and search for all the information you need. It's never to early to make a plan about what you might be interested in especially since pharmacists have the whole world open to them."

and so he said...

well, it takes time actually to choose and make decision. What always goes in my mind is that you should try your best in whatever field you are. hopefully this will calm my heart even for a while..

Vacation and I

As end semester vacation begins, everybody will normally go back to their home, enjoying the vacation with their family, but where am I?? Several people asked me what I'm doing on this vacation. My answer arises another questions as I choose to stay in UIA kuantan instead of going back home. why is that so?? There are many reasons actually, one of them is my new home is still under construction. I can't wait to see how my house will look like and how I'm going to decorate my new room. Hopefully, i can start moving in by this December. This picture was taken 1 month ago and i don't know how it looks like now. My mom told me that the roof, walls, ceiling and floor are already finished but no windows yet. I think I'm going to drop by on the way back from Kelantan to see the progress myself.

But, it is really boring being alone in this small compartment and I have already finished watching House M.D. till season4 and Heroes season 1. And right now I'm already craved for another Heroes series. Medic students envy me for having so much time to be wasted. well, it's holiday...

Tahu versus Ingat

Sekadar gambar hiasan

Bile tiba masa exam, ramai la sahabat2 seperjuangan merungut "tak ingat", "blank la time exam", "da bace, tp tak ingat langsung", "macam mane ni susah la nk ingat", ade pulak yang hafal sebijik-sebijik macam dalam slide, siap ngan turutan yang tepat lagi jitu. Bile tanye, tak tau pun ape bende yang dia hafal tu. aku memang tak boleh nak hafal, so kadang2 ade la problem sikit2 (dan kadangkala banyak) masa menjawab soalan exam.

Bila dengar rungutan2 tu, aku teringat perbualan aku ngan sorang pensyarah aku, seorang doktor yang juga seorang pharamacologist. Aku mengadu yang walaupun aku dah baca sebelum lecture dan selepas lecture, dan baca lagi sebelum exam, siap buat mind map, still time exam lupa jugak. apa kes??

Doktor tu pun kate: "yang kamu ingat buat ape?? memang la kamu lupe... kalau kamu tahu dan faham kamu takkan lupe.. sebab tu la saya tak bagi slide powerpoint saye, kalau tak, memang sebijik jawapan kamu dengan slide saya."
Haha, terkedu dibuatnye. Mana taknye bile dapat je slide lecturer memang tak buke buku dah. Rujuk slide je la..

So aku pun berazam tak nak bergantung kt slide lecturer semate-mate, cari info dari sources lain jgk. Tp hakikatnya memang susah la jugak, yelah banyak kene korbankan, mase dan tenaga nak pegi library.

Cakap pasal library, aku teringat doktor ni pun pernah cakap: library kita ni kosong manjang, tak pernah saya tengok kat universiti mane2 untuk undergraduate program library takde student kecuali time exam. pelik2..

So, azam ke2 aku, nk jadi pengunjung setia library, moga2 aku istiqamah la pasni...

Jadi, kate azimat yang aku dapat simpulkan:
"Kalau aku ingat aku akan lupe,
Tp kalu aku tahu dan aku faham aku takkan tak tahu dan takkan tak faham"

Ark.. susahnya nak realisasikan.....

Detektif Conan Vol. 62

Aik, apa dah jadi... wahaha memang gila suspens...

Kes ketiga masih belum habis, hanya menceritakan seorang lelaki yang mati memandu kereta??Bila dan bagaimana mangsa dibunuh??

Tak sabarnya aku nak bace komik seterusnya.. memang sugoi..

p.s: aku menyampah tengok laki2 muslim yang merayap-rayap di supermarket2 walaupun jam tangan ataupun jam kt hp jelas menunjukkan sembahyang Jumaat dah bermula... ramai sungguh orang islam tak sembahyang rupanye.

Rain → Autism??

Autism linked with rainfall in study

http://www.flickr.com/photos/heatherica/112206272/

according to Yahoo! News

"Doctors agree there is a genetic component to autism. They also theorize that something in the environment and possibly conditions in the womb can trigger the condition.

The researchers said their study supports this idea.

Perhaps infants and toddlers are kept are kept indoors in front of the TV more in rainy climates, and that somehow causes brain changes, they said. Or perhaps they breathe in more harmful chemicals while indoors.

Vitamin D deficiency caused by insufficient time in the sun might also be a trigger, they said."

US news: Consumer group asks government to ban Avandia

"WASHINGTON – The government should ban the diabetes drug Avandia because of a wide variety of life-threatening risks, including heart and liver damage, a consumer group said Thursday.

The consumer group, Public Citizen, filed a petition with the Food and Drug Administration to have Avandia taken off the market.

It was the second setback in as many weeks for the GlaxoSmithKline medication, which at one time had shown great promise in reducing the blood sugar levels of people with Type 2 diabetes. Last week, the American Diabetes Association and a European counterpart jointly released updated treatment guidelines for doctors that pointedly recommended against using Avandia.
"The FDA is in possession of clear, unequivocal evidence that (Avandia) causes a wide variety of toxicities," Public Citizen said in its petition. "Many of these are life-threatening, such as heart attacks, heart failure (and) liver failure."

The FDA said it will "carefully review" the petition, and it continues to monitor Avandia's safety record.

Avandia's heart risks were brought to light two years ago in a medical journal article that reported a 43 percent higher risk of heart attacks among Avandia patients when compared with those taking other diabetes drugs. Although scientists are still debating a link between the drug and heart attacks, concerns about the medical evidence led to stronger warnings.
As a result, Avandia use dropped sharply but about a million U.S. patients still take it.
Public Citizen said its own research found 14 cases of liver failure associated with Avandia, 12 of which led to death. The petition also said Avandia predisposes some patients to eye problems, anemia and bone fractures.

Glaxo, in a statement, said it does not believe Avandia causes liver failure. The company said its own data shows the drug has a good safety record when it comes to liver problems. The company said the data on heart attacks is inconclusive and that Avandia is safe and effective, when used according to directions. Glaxo shares initially fell on the news, but later rose to close at $37.90, up 1.6 percent."
